Gold price remains high, experts warn of possible adjustment
The commodity research group of Bank of America (BofA) is one of the first units to forecast the gold price target of 4,000 USD/ounce since the beginning of this year, saying that as long as investment demand increases slightly, gold can reach this level.
However, as the target is gradually becoming a reality, BofA technical analyst Paul Ciana said that gold prices have reached most of their upside potential and are showing signs of overbought.
He said: "Many technical signals on different time frames suggest that gold's rally may be wearing down as it approaches the $4,000/ounce mark. If correct, it is likely that in the fourth quarter, there will be a period of sideways or adjustment". See more...
Reckless price drop, Quang Ngai farmers suffer harvest
Quang Ngai province currently has more than 2,000 hectares of areca trees. At this time last year, the price of fresh areca nuts ranged from 80,000 to 85,000 VND/kg and remained high for 6 months.
However, this year the price of areca nuts has decreased sharply, to only about 10,000 VND/kg. Despite the low price, traders still only choose to buy long, beautiful areca nuts. Round areca - which accounts for a large proportion - can only be bought for 2,000 VND/kg, and some places even have no one to buy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay, in Dinh Cuong commune, said that her garden has more than 300 areca trees bearing fruit. Last year, thanks to the high price of areca nuts, she earned more than 100 million VND. Vietnam exceeds target of 11 million securities accounts 5 years earlier
Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) has just announced data on the number of securities trading accounts (TKGD) of domestic and foreign investors in September 2025 and the third quarter of 2025 (on September 30, 2025).
According to statistics on VSDC's management system, the total number of domestic securities trading accounts reached 10,994,603 accounts. Of which, individual investors account for 10,975,831 accounts, while institutional investors have 18,772 accounts.
For foreign investors, the total number of transaction accounts reached 49,322 accounts, including 44,598 personal accounts and 4,724 institutional accounts.
As of September 30, 2025, the total Vietnamese stock market system recorded 11,043,925 trading accounts (both domestic and foreign). See more...
