On the morning of August 5, the Ministry of Home Affairs held a meeting to deploy tasks for August 2025.
At the conference, Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra generalized that in July, the ministry focused on implementing the operation of local government at both levels right from the first day after the merger.
After 1 month, the overall assessment is that the operation of the two-level government is quite good, although there are still many difficulties and problems that inevitably arise. Along with other tasks, in the past month, the Ministry of Home Affairs has completed many large and important tasks.
Regarding tasks in August, based on the conclusions of the Politburo and the direction of the Government, especially the new supplementary plan of the Steering Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, the minister urged many tasks to be completed this month, especially related to the operation of local government at both levels.
Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra pointed out the major issues that need to be discussed by affiliated and subordinate units at the conference.
First, the Ministry of Home Affairs will select 34 cadres with capacity, qualifications, enthusiasm, and responsibility to bring to the locality, supporting provinces and cities within 3 months. In this period, the ministry selected outstanding people to ensure the implementation of tasks related to the implementation of local government at 2 levels, not only in the field under its charge.
To successfully complete this task, the minister requested the mandatory organization of training, fostering, preparing content, programs, and documents so that selected cadres are ready to depart. This is a new, unprecedented task and the Ministry of Home Affairs is the exemplary agency at the forefront.
"We take volunteerism, volunteerism, and responsibility. Cadres who go to the locality will be recognized and highly appreciated" - the minister emphasized.
To carry out this task, according to the minister, the units in the selected plan consider this an honor and a common responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs with the spirit of "going for victory to return".
Emphasizing the nature of the new task, the minister requested the units under his/her management to carefully discuss and develop plans to be selected according to the set criteria.
In addition to regular tasks, the Minister of Home Affairs also noted that the construction of an institutional system needs to ensure progress. The Ministry of Home Affairs will organize training for local authorities at the commune level this week.
