National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man meets with Uzbek President

On the afternoon of April 7, local time, in Tashkent, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev highly appreciated the historical significance of the visit of the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly to Uzbekistan to promote bilateral relations and affirmed that Vietnam is a traditional friend and important partner of Uzbekistan in Southeast Asia.

The President of Uzbekistan respectfully sent his condolences to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; recalled the meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Kazan in October 2024; and expressed his impression of the great achievements in economic development, ensuring social security and international integration that Vietnam has achieved over the past 4 decades, considering this a typical example of the rise of a mid-range country that Uzbekistan wants to learn from.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his regards and greetings from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the President.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Uzbekistan on successfully organizing the IPU-150 General Assembly and highly appreciated the President's impressive speech at this Session; affirmed that attending IPU-150 demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, friendship and the desire to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation for development and prosperity between the two countries.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship with Uzbekistan and wishes to further promote cooperation in various fields to match the potential of the two countries.

The two leaders exchanged many issues and shared a vision of bilateral cooperation. The two sides agreed in the coming time to strengthen the exchange, extensive political dialogue at all levels, especially high -level, through channels of the Party, the State, the Government and the National Assembly; continue to coordinate closely and support each other at multilateral forums; continue to strengthen cooperation between legislative agencies, share experiences on supervision of law enforcement and decide on important issues of the country; Continue to review and sign cooperation documents, create a solid legal framework for bilateral relations to develop comprehensively. In addition to signing, the two leaders agreed to strengthen the urge and supervision so that the agreements and documents are implemented effectively and fully.

The two leaders agreed that the two sides should encourage businesses of the two countries to connect and explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as healthcare, energy, oil and gas, textiles, agriculture, etc., accordingly, assigning relevant ministries and branches of the two countries to coordinate in reviewing and developing a comprehensive roadmap for cooperation in all fields to report to the two sides' senior leaders for comments.

President of Uzbekistan and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man agreed that the two sides still have great potential for cooperation in potential areas such as transportation connectivity, tourism, culture, education - training and local cooperation such as regularly coordinating the organization of exchanges and exchanges of art troupes and sports; creating favorable conditions to enhance tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, considering the possibility of opening more routes, increasing the frequency of direct flights, and having favorable visa policies for citizens of the two countries.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man conveyed to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev the invitation to visit Vietnam by General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his willingness to visit Vietnam as soon as possible and hoped to welcome General Secretary To Lam and senior Vietnamese leaders to visit Uzbekistan at an appropriate time.
