On February 6, at the National Assembly House, a conference of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee with the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee took place on the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly.
Politburo member, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh co-chaired the conference.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that this is an extremely important conference chaired by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee to review work related to preparations for the 9th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly.
This will ensure high quality, efficiency and create the highest consensus among National Assembly delegates in deciding on the contents and agenda of the session, as well as deciding on personnel matters. The 9th extraordinary session is scheduled to open on February 12 and close on February 18, 2025.
The conference took place in the context that the Central and local governments are summarizing Resolution 18 and rearranging the apparatus from the Central to local levels.
Accordingly, many agencies of the Government and the National Assembly have worked day and night, including Saturdays and Sundays, with a high sense of responsibility to carry out their assigned tasks.
The National Assembly Chairman said that yesterday (February 5), the National Assembly Standing Committee met to give opinions on the draft Law on Government Organization (amended), the Law on Local Government Organization (amended) and discussed the issuance of resolutions in this session.
The National Assembly Standing Committee basically agrees on these contents, and a number of issues will be discussed at today's conference.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized the need to continue to innovate thinking and working methods, focusing highly on national development; at the same time, promoting the experience, responsibility and working methods of recent sessions, especially the 7th and 8th sessions of the 15th National Assembly.
In the past, the two sides have coordinated very well, now they must coordinate even better; they have been sincere and highly responsible, now they must be even more sincere and highly responsible, for the development of the country.
It is necessary to create unity to remove bottlenecks and difficulties in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and building the political system.
The National Assembly Chairman informed that, regarding the contents of the session up to this point, the two sides have basically agreed on the following contents: considering and passing 4 laws; 5 resolutions serving the work of arranging and perfecting the institutions and operating mechanisms of agencies, units, and organizations of the political system; considering and deciding on 4 other contents under their authority, including the content on personnel work; and at the same time, there is a report to the National Assembly according to regulations.
The conference also heard reports from Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung and Report from Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son on preparations for the 9th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly.
