On the afternoon of August 21, the Organization Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee deployed the program of a meeting with officials planned for the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and leadership and management titles under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for the 2025-2030, 2026-2031 terms.
According to the report of the Organization Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, out of a total of 206 planned cadres, 138 people belong to the planning source of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee; 42 people belong to the planning source of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and 26 people belong to the planning source of provincial leadership and management titles under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. The planned cadre source is relatively balanced between the two localities before the merger, with 100 cadres belonging to the Tien Giang source and 106 cadres belonging to the Dong Thap source.

The conference assessed and planned to ensure that the cadre structure has succession between generations. Regarding age, the group from 47 to under 52 years old accounts for the highest proportion with 93 people, equivalent to 45.15%. The group from 52 to under 57 years old has 48 people; from 42 to under 47 years old has 46 people. There are 10 cadres under 42 years old and 9 cadres from 57 years old and above.
This structure shows the combination of generations, basically ensuring the requirements of inheritance, transition and development. However, the proportion of young cadres, especially those under 42 years old, is still low, and needs to continue to be concerned with discovering, training and creating sources. Among the planned cadres, there are 61 female cadres, accounting for 29.61%. In terms of professional qualifications, there are 10 PhDs, 135 masters and 61 people with university and bachelor's degrees. 100% of planned cadres have advanced qualifications or bachelor's degrees in political theory.
Notably, 40/206 officials, accounting for 19.42%, have expertise in science and technology fields such as natural sciences, engineering - construction, information technology, agriculture - aquaculture, natural resources - environment, biotechnology, food technology and pharmacy. This is identified as an important human resource for the province to implement tasks on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
According to the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, out of 206 cadres from the planned source, 30 people have been arranged and appointed to planned titles or equivalent titles, accounting for 14.56%. Of which, 19 people were arranged and appointed to the correct planned titles; 7 people were arranged and appointed to equivalent titles and 4 people are being proposed for appointment to planned titles.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said that after arranging administrative units, the requirements for the contingent of leading and managing cadres have changed in terms of scale, area, management scope and operating methods. Therefore, personnel work needs to continue to be implemented in the direction of substantive assessment, associated with new task requirements. At the conference, cadres under planning also exchanged views on orientation for striving, training, and improving practical capacity; difficulties and obstacles in work; and at the same time proposed training, fostering, rotation, transfer, arrangement, use and creating an environment for cadres to be trained, challenged, and mature.
