Hanoi verifies assets and income of 56 officials by random drawing

Hanoi On the afternoon of October 27, the Hanoi City Inspectorate held a conference to draw lots to randomly select people whose assets and income are verified in 2025.

The draw was attended and witnessed by representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee, and representatives of departments, branches, and units selected to verify assets and income in 2025.

As a result, the conference drew lots for 56 people at 19 agencies and units to verify assets and income.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoa - Deputy Chief Inspector of Hanoi City, the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity is one of the key, continuous tasks, of great significance in building the Party and the political system. This is also an area that the General Secretary - Head of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity pays special attention to and directs strongly and synchronously.

Mr. Hoa emphasized that the implementation of declaration, control and verification of assets and income of people with positions and powers is one of the six groups of basic measures to prevent corruption.

After the draw, the Hanoi Inspectorate will have a document notifying the results to each verified agency and unit and carry out the process of verifying assets and income in accordance with the provisions of law.

The verification activity will be conducted with the right authority, the right subjects, the right order, ensuring that the rights of the verified person's property are not violated.

Based on the verification results, the Hanoi City Inspectorate will recommend that agencies, organizations and competent persons handle cases of dishonest declaration or unclear explanation of the origin of assets and additional income, if any.
