This morning (October 18), the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), term 2024-2029, held its closing session.
At the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long spoke about the situation and tasks of socio-economic development of the country, and the coordination between the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, the average economic growth in the 2021-2024 period reached 5.7%, among the leading groups in the world and the region, and is considered a "bright spot" of the global economy; in 2024, the economy will recover clearly, with the growth rate striving to reach and exceed 7%.
Economic scale from 346 billion USD in 2020, ranked 37th in the world, increased to 433 billion USD in 2023, ranked 34th in the world; GDP per capita increased 1.3 times, from 3,552 USD to about 4,647 USD in 2024.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, the tasks set from now until the end of 2024 and 2025 are very heavy, striving to make our country a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030; and a developed country with high income by 2045.
Strengthen discipline and administrative order; resolutely rectify and overcome the situation of avoiding and shirking responsibility; strengthen close coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to enhance information and propaganda, especially policy communication work, to create social consensus.
The Government closely coordinates with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to develop and perfect many policies and mechanisms on ethnic groups, religions, overseas Vietnamese, and intellectuals; coordinates in monitoring and social criticism of policies, programs, projects, and proposals on ethnic and religious affairs.
The Government, ministries and branches have actively participated in the activities of the Front, cared for the lives of all classes of people, promoted democracy in social life, built the great national unity bloc and successfully achieved the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
In the coming time, the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to strengthen coordination in gathering people, implementing democracy and social consensus, contributing to building the great national unity bloc.
Actively respond to and participate in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements; participate in building and consolidating the people's government and implementing the Party's guidelines, policies and laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.
Coordinate to promote propaganda and mobilize people in ethnic minority areas, religious people, prestigious and representative people, village elders, village chiefs, clan leaders, dignitaries, officials, monks, etc. to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the policy of great national unity and religious unity.
The Government, ministries, branches and localities continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in developing policies and laws to ensure substance and effectiveness.
The two sides closely coordinated with Party and National Assembly agencies to successfully hold Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, and coordinated to organize and mobilize people to successfully conduct the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
