Dong Nai maintains high growth rate, reaching about 9.63% in 2025
On the afternoon of May 18, in Dong Nai city, General Secretary and President To Lam and the Central Working Delegation worked with the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai City Party Committee on the situation of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and some key tasks in the coming time.
Also attending were members of the Politburo, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Le Minh Tri, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Trinh Van Quyet, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; members of the Politburo: General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; members of the Party Central Committee, members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of the Government, National Assembly, leaders of central committees, ministries, branches and Dong Nai City.
Dong Nai City has 95 commune and ward administrative units. In 2025, Dong Nai's economy continued to maintain a fairly good growth momentum, with an economic scale of nearly 678,000 billion VND, contributing over 5% of the country's GDP, ranking 4th in the country. Dong Nai maintains a high growth rate, reaching about 9.63% in 2025, is the leading locality in the country in terms of the level of completion of growth targets; ranked 7th in the country in terms of growth rate. This is also the highest growth rate in the last 10 years of Dong Nai.
The General Secretary and President requested that in the coming time, the city should effectively organize the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, strategic resolutions of the Central Government and the Resolution of the 1st City Party Congress; quickly implement the resolution with specific actions, products, and results; quantified by projects, works, targets, progress and clear responsibilities.
The General Secretary and President requested to create a new growth model, bringing Dong Nai beyond the limits of a traditional industrial center. Dong Nai must develop by productivity, technology, knowledge content, innovation capacity and spillover to domestic enterprises, instead of relying heavily on industrial land, the number of projects and cheap labor.
Dong Nai must aim for a modern, civilized, meaningful, and livable city
The General Secretary and President clearly stated to take Long Thanh International Airport as the nucleus of restructuring the development space. The city needs to soon develop a master plan for urban development of Long Thanh airport, Nhon Trach and surrounding areas; coordinate with ministries and sectors to ensure the progress of Long Thanh airport phase 2, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway, airport connection routes and inter-regional infrastructure...
General Secretary and President emphasized the development of culture and society, improving the quality of life of the people, putting people at the center of all development policies. Dong Nai must aim for a modern, civilized, meaningful, and livable city; economic growth must be linked to social progress, social security, environment and cultural identity.
With the characteristics of a large industrial center, with a large number of workers and migrant workers, the city needs to consider social housing, worker housing, schools, hospitals, cultural institutions, public spaces and workers' lives as an essential foundation for sustainable development; must better care for remote areas, ethnic minority areas and border areas; build Dong Nai people in the new era with a spirit of discipline, creativity, affection, integration and aspiration to rise up.
Historical, cultural, and revolutionary values need to be preserved and promoted in traditional education, tourism development, urban identity building, and fostering pride for the younger generation.
Previously, General Secretary and President To Lam and the Central working delegation offered incense at Uncle Ho's Church on the campus of Dong Nai City Party Committee; visited the exhibition area of handicrafts and typical agricultural products of Dong Nai city.
