At the meeting with voters on the morning of December 3 of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation, voters made recommendations and proposals related to issues of concern, such as the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels; promoting the country's economic development potential; promoting administrative reform; digital transformation; suspended planning; preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, etc.
Exchanging information with voters, General Secretary To Lam said that the fight against corruption, negativity and waste is still being carried out resolutely and thoroughly.
Especially after the Politburo and the Secretariat decided to add anti-waste content to the tasks of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity.
"This work must be done without stopping, without any forbidden areas or exceptions, to organize a truly clean and strong political system, truly of the people, by the people, for the people; civil servants and public employees must truly be servants of the people," the General Secretary affirmed.
According to the General Secretary, recently, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee have disciplined six officials under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat; bringing the total number of senior officials disciplined since the beginning of the year to 52.
Of these, 48 officials were disciplined in relation to cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste and negativity.
"This is also the first time the Politburo has disciplined a key Party official with a warning. There is no stopping, we must continue," the General Secretary emphasized.
In addition, the prosecution agencies nationwide have prosecuted and investigated 1,681 defendants, prosecuted 1,479 defendants, and tried 2,703 defendants at first instance for corruption, economic and position crimes, including 3 defendants who are high-ranking officials under the management of the Politburo and Secretariat.
For the cases and incidents that the Steering Committee monitored and directed during the investigation, prosecution, and trial stages, over 6,150 billion VND and many other valuable assets were temporarily seized, seized, and frozen. During the civil judgment enforcement stage, over 11,000 billion VND was recovered, bringing the total amount recovered since the beginning of the year to nearly 19,000 billion VND and since the establishment of the Steering Committee to date to 96,586 billion VND.
In Hanoi alone, the city's Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Waste and Negativity has just conducted an initial review and discovered more than 800 projects with signs of loss and waste, and has only handled 3 projects, recovering more than 42,000 billion VND.
"This is the country's resource. It is very uncomfortable to pass through, such prime land has been left for decades. The unfinished construction projects as mentioned by voters are very worrying, someone must be responsible, must be handled," the General Secretary added.
On behalf of the National Assembly delegates, General Secretary To Lam also answered, recorded and fully accepted the opinions raised by voters to report to the National Assembly, expressed opinions at the parliament as well as requested competent agencies to resolve and respond to report back to voters.
At the same time, the General Secretary wished voters and people of the capital to continue to unite and actively contribute to building Hanoi to be worthy of being the capital of heroic Vietnam with a thousand-year history.
