During the process of participating in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in the Playa Grande area of La Guaira state of Venezuela, on July 1 (local time), the Vietnamese delegation accurately identified 16 locations with trapped victims.

The delegation actively performed tasks at 9 locations, successfully taking out the bodies of victims, bringing the total number of victims found to date to 23. The delegation also handed over the remaining 7 locations to local authorities and local forces.


This is the third time the Vietnam People's Army and the Vietnam People's Police have sent forces and vehicles abroad to carry out humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. The Vietnamese delegation participating in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Venezuela includes 124 members.

In a post on social networks, Ms. Delcy Rodriguez announced a 7-day national mourning starting from 6 pm on July 1 (local time) and sent a message of comfort and encouragement to those who are suffering the tragedy, reaffirming her commitment to always accompany and protect them.
