According to information from the People's Committee of Ngoc Chien commune, on August 25 and 26, Ngoc Chien commune suffered prolonged heavy rains, causing floodwaters in the streams to rise.
At around 10:00 a.m. on August 26, Mr. Lo Van Hoc, born in 1994, (residing in Na Tau village) was swept away by floodwaters and went missing while crossing a stream in Tau Khuom village.
The flood also caused flooding, damaged many areas of crops, damaged part of the spillway in Phai village (Km32+660, Provincial Road 109) and caused landslides on many inter-village routes, causing traffic congestion.
The Ngoc Chien commune government has implemented the "4 on-site" motto, mobilized forces to search for missing people, established working groups in villages, increased propaganda and warnings for people to proactively prevent.
