The National Assembly Standing Committee has passed a resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Quang Binh province for the 2023-2025 period.
The Resolution was passed at the meeting on October 24, 2024 and took effect from December 1, 2024.
In Minh Hoa district, Tan Thanh commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of the three communes of Hoa Phuc, Hoa Tien and Hoa Thanh.
After its establishment, Tan Thanh commune had a natural area of more than 89km2 and 5,454 people, bordering Hoa Hop, Hong Hoa and Trong Hoa communes.
In Bo Trach district, Ha My commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of two communes, Ha Trach and My Trach.
After its establishment, Ha My commune had a natural area of 27.68 km2 and a population of 8,987 people. Ha My commune borders Bac Trach, Cu Nam, Lien Trach, Son Loc communes and Ba Don town.
Establish Ly Nam commune on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Nam Trach and Ly Trach communes.
Ly Nam commune will have a natural area of 41.47km2 and a population of 9,207 people. Ly Nam commune borders Dai Trach, Hoa Trach, Nhan Trach communes, Nong Truong Viet Trung town and Dong Hoi city.
After the arrangement, Bo Trach district has 26 commune-level administrative units, including 23 communes and 3 towns.
In Quang Trach district, Phu Canh commune was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of Phu Hoa and Canh Hoa communes.
Phu Canh commune has a natural area of 11.39 km2, population of 9,282 people. Phu Canh commune borders Lien Truong commune, Quang Thach commune; Tuyen Hoa district and Ba Don town. After the arrangement, Quang Trach district has 16 communes.
In Quang Ninh district, the entire natural area and population of Luong Ninh commune will be merged into Quan Hau town. After the merger, Quan Hau town will have a natural area of 8.68 km2 and a population of 10,728 people. Quan Hau town borders Vinh Ninh commune, Vo Ninh commune and Dong Hoi city.
After the arrangement, Quang Ninh district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 1 town.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Quang Binh province will have 8 district-level administrative units including: 6 districts, 1 town, 1 city and 145 commune-level administrative units, including 122 communes, 15 wards and 8 towns.
The Government, People's Council, People's Committee of Quang Binh province and relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of the resolution; arranging and perfecting the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilizing the lives of local people, ensuring the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
