On June 11, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee established 10 working groups with the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee as direct leaders and regularly supervised, monitored, and directed the implementation of the trial operation of the local government model at the commune level from June 12 to July 1.
Working Group No. 1, headed by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, will be in charge of monitoring the wards: Minh Phung, Binh Thoi, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh (District 11) and the communes: Nha Be, Hiep Phuoc (Nha Be district).
Working Group No. 2, headed by Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, supervised the wards: Saigon, Ben Thanh, Cau Ong Lanh, Tan Dinh (District 1) and the communes: Can Gio, Thanh An, Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong (Can Gio district).
Working Group No. 3 is led by Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le, monitoring the implementation in District 3 (Ban Co, Xuan Hoa, Nhieu Loc wards), District 5 (An Dong ward, Cho Quan, Cho Lon), Hoc Mon district (Hoc Mon, Ba Diem, Xuan Thoi Son, Dong Thanh communes) and Cu Chi district (An Nhon Tay, Thai My, Tan An Hoi, Cu, Nhuan Duc, Phu Hoa Dong, Binh My communes).
Working Group No. 4, led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc, supervised wards in District 4 (Khanh Hoi, Vinh Hoi, Xom Chieu), District 7 (Phu Thuan, Tan My, Tan Thuan, Tan Hung), District 10 (Hoa Hung, Vuon Lai, Dien Hong), Binh Chanh District (Vinh Loc, Tan Vinh Loc, Binh Loi, Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh, Hung Long, Binh Hung).
Working Group No. 5, headed by Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee Tran Kim Yen, is in charge of supervising new wards in District 8 (Binh Dong, Phu Dinh, Chanh Hung) and Phu Nhuan District (Cau Kieu, Duc Nhuan, Phu Nhuan).
Working Group No. 6, headed by Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai, is in charge of Binh Tan District (Binh Tan, Binh Hung Hoa, Binh Tri Dong, An Lac, Tan Tao Wards) and Go Vap District (Hanh Thong, An Nhon, Go Vap, Thong Tay Hoi, An Hoi Tay, An Hoi Dong).
Working Group No. 7 is led by Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Committee Van Thi Bach Tuyet, supervising in Binh Thanh District (Binh Loi Trung, Binh Quoi, Binh Thanh, Gia Dinh, Thanh My Tay) and Tan Phu District (Tay Thanh, Tan Son Nhi, Phu Tho Hoa, Phu Thanh, Tan Phu).
Working Group No. 8 is headed by Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong, in charge of District 6 (Binh Tay, Binh Tien, Phu Lam, Binh Phu) and Tan Binh District (Tan Son Hoa, Tan Son Nhat, Tan Hoa, Bay Hien, Tan Binh, Tan Son).
Working Group No. 9 is led by Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Pham Thanh Kien, supervising District 12 (Thoi An, Tan Thoi Hiep, Trung My Tay, An Phu Dong, Dong Hung Thuan).
Working Group No. 10, headed by Thu Duc City Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Hiep, is in charge of newly established wards in Thu Duc City including: Thu Duc, Binh Trung, An Khanh, Tam Binh, Linh Xuan, Tang Nhon Phu, Phuoc Long, Long Truong, Long Binh, Cat Lai, Hiep Binh, Long Phuoc.
From June 12, all 102 new administrative units at the ward and commune levels of Ho Chi Minh City will simultaneously deploy a trial operation of the two-level urban government model.
After the testing process, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a summary and experience assessment period from June 26 to 30, as a basis for the official implementation of the two-level government model from July 1 throughout the city.
