On March 27, the Government Office said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed a decision on personnel for the Ministry of Education and Training.
In Decision No. 488/QD-TTg dated March 27, 2026, the Prime Minister decided to let Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc - Deputy Minister of Education and Training resign from the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training to arrange other work according to the opinion of competent authorities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc was born in 1974, from Long An province. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from Foreign Trade University in 1995; a master's degree in development economics, a joint program between Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and the Institute of Social Sciences, Netherlands. In 2006, Mr. Phuc received a doctorate in development research in economics from the Institute of Social Sciences, Netherlands.
He has held many positions such as deputy head of the Faculty of Economics, head of the Faculty of Economics, vice-rector, then Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
On September 22, 2017, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
Currently, the Acting Minister of Education and Training is Mr. Hoang Minh Son.
The Deputy Ministers include: Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong (Standing Deputy Minister), Le Quan, Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh.
