Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 674/QD-TTg dated March 28, 2025 to complete the Steering Committee for the development of the Science and Technology Law (amended) project.
According to the decision, Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung will be the Head of the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee for the development of the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended) was established under Decision No. 457/QD-TTg dated May 28, 2024.
The Steering Committee has the function of advising and assisting the Prime Minister in directing the development of the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended) on schedule and in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, including the following work contents:
Considering and approving the plan and progress of the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended) established by the Ministry of Science and Technology;
Direct the development of the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended) including draft laws, draft submissions and documents according to regulations;
Direct the collection of opinions from ministries, branches, localities and relevant organizations and individuals on the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended); direct the reception of opinions from relevant agencies, organizations and individuals on the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended);
Direct the coordination with the National Assembly Committees in the process of developing, reviewing and submitting the draft Law on Science and Technology (amended); perform other tasks assigned and directed by the Government and the Prime Minister.
