On February 26, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - attended the 70th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Air Force Traditional Day (March 3, 1954 - March 3, 2025); 60th Anniversary of the First Victory Day of the Air Force (April 3, 1945 - April 3, 2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that, together with other forces of the Air Defense Forces (APF) and the entire army, over the past 70 years, consecutive generations of the Vietnam People's Air Force have overcome countless difficulties and challenges, taking the land and people's hearts as their basis and starting point, creatively applying the guidelines and military art of people's war, skillfully organizing and using forces, fighting bravely and scientifically.
With the victory in the first battle on April 3, 1965, the Air Force "opened the air front without victory" and continued to create many miracles with glorious feats.

To continue to successfully complete the tasks in the coming time and accelerate the process of disciplined and modern construction in a streamlined, strong and strong direction, the Minister requested that the PKKQ Army continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly and effectively implement Resolution 8 (8th tenure) on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation; Resolutions and Conclusions of the Politburo on military and defense strategies;
Strictly implement the directives, orders and regulations of the Ministry of National Defense on combat readiness, airspace management, flight management and operation. Monitor, grasp the situation, promptly advise the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on options, countermeasures, use of PKKQ forces...
General Phan Van Giang also requested the PKKQ Army to continue to resolutely implement the adjustment of forces, rectify the organization and staffing in the direction of streamlining, compactness, and strength; ensure reasonableness and balance between components and forces; prioritize the number of troops for combat readiness units, units on duty at border and islands to have a roadmap, in accordance with the revised Law on Officers.
Do a good job of personnel policy, quickly stabilize the ideological situation, organize the payroll after the merger; build a comprehensively strong "exemplary, typical" agency and unit. Focus on improving the quality of disciplinary training, building regulations; do a good job of mass mobilization, building a safe unit associated with a safe area. Implement well the work of ensuring logistics and techniques, promptly serving tasks.

Previously, giving a speech at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the PKKQ Army - affirmed that the history of the birth, fighting and development of the Vietnam People's Air Force is always closely linked to the history of building, fighting and growing up of the People's Army and the heroic Vietnamese nation.
Over the past 70 years, the Air Force has developed from nothing, from small to large, from unmatched to modern. The more fiercely the revolutionary heroism was fought, the more the Air Force was promoted, shining the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's Army on the front to protect the Fatherland's sky.
