According to the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units in Quang Ninh province, Quang Ninh proposes 2 options.
According to the first plan, 171 commune-level administrative units will now be arranged into 51 commune-level administrative units, including: 27 wards, 21 communes and 3 special zones (Van Don, Co To, Mong Cai).
Option 2, if the Central Government only approves 2 special zones (Van Don, Co To), will arrange commune-level administrative units in the whole province into 54 units, including: 30 wards, 22 communes and 2 special zones.
At the 26th session of the 14th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, this morning (September 28), the People's Council of Quang Ninh province passed a Resolution approving the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in the province.
In which, it approved the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of Quang Ninh province into 51 commune-level administrative units, including: 27 wards, 21 communes and 3 special zones (Mong Cai, Van Don, Co To).
In case the competent authority allows the establishment of 2 special zones (Van Don, Co To), the 12 communes and wards of Mong Cai City (Binh Ngoc, Tra Co, Hai Xuan, Hai Yen, Tran Phu, Hai Hoa, Ka Long, Ninh Duong, Van Ninh, Hai Dong, Vinh Thuc peach commune, Vinh Trung island commune) will be arranged into 4 administrative units.
The People's Council of Quang Ninh province assigned the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to, based on current legal provisions and this Resolution, complete the dossier of the Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Quang Ninh province in 2025 and submit it to competent authorities for consideration and decision in accordance with the provisions of law.
