National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the National Assembly will continue to implement the Party's policies, listen to the opinions of voters, people and businesses.

On August 27, General Secretary To Lam met with National Assembly deputies from different periods on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Speaking at the meeting, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that looking back at the 20-year history after independence, going through many difficult, arduous and challenging periods, but under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the entire Party, people, army, people and soldiers nationwide have achieved great achievements of historical significance in all fields.

Accompanying the nation, the National Assembly has constantly innovated, affirming its position and role as the highest representative body of the people, the highest state power body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, leaving important impressions, great achievements of historical significance.

Contributing to that common achievement is the intellectual dedication, bravery, enthusiasm, and high responsibility of generations of National Assembly deputies through the ages.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, entering a new period, our country is facing great opportunities and fortunes, but also facing many difficulties and challenges.

The National Assembly will continue to implement the Party's policies, listen to the opinions of voters, people and businesses; accompany the Government, closely coordinate with relevant agencies, effectively implement law-making work, supreme supervision, and decide on important issues of the country.

Thereby, promoting the spirit of innovation, creativity, democracy, and solidarity; promptly institutionalizing the Party's Resolutions, and bringing the Party's policies into practical life.

Previously, sharing at the meeting, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Van Yieu, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, former Chairman of the Ethnic Council K' Sor Phuoc, former Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ton Nu Thi Ninh expressed their great emotion at attending the special meaningful meeting chaired by General Secretary To Lam.

The delegates said they were extremely proud of the great achievements of our country, including rapid and steady development since our Party decided on the path of innovation from the 6th National Party Congress in 1986 to present and the strategic policies being implemented by our Party, bringing the country firmly into the new era today.

Looking back at the activities of the National Assembly in recent times, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Van Yieu said that the National Assembly has made important progress in performing all three legislative functions, supervising and deciding on important issues of the country.

In particular, in legislative work, in the early years of the Doi Moi period, our legal system was still quite sketchy, but up to now, we have basically had a relatively complete system of Laws and Codes in all areas of social life.

Awarding the "For the Cause of the National Assembly" Medal to General Secretary To Lam

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a ceremony to award the "For the National Assembly's cause" Medal.

On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully presented the "For the Cause of the National Assembly" Medal to General Secretary To Lam.

Next, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh respectfully presented the "For the Cause of the National Assembly" Medal to former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and delegates who are leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front.
