On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025), General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong exchanged congratulatory letters/telegrams with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh exchanged congratulatory letters/telegrams with Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man exchanged congratulatory messages with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien exchanged congratulatory messages/telegrams with Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the congratulatory letters and telegrams from Vietnamese leaders to Chinese leaders stated: Over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China has maintained a stable development trend overall, political trust has been increasingly consolidated, the friendship between the people of the two countries has been closely linked, cooperation in various fields has continuously deepened, bringing many practical benefits to the people of the two countries, actively contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
The Party, State and people of Vietnam always cherish and remember the valuable and effective coordination and support of the Party, State and people of fraternal China in all historical periods; always determine that developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China is a consistent policy and top priority in Vietnam's overall foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification.
In the context of profound changes in the world and regional situation and the cause of building socialism in each country entering a crucial stage, the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries have agreed to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promote the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, for the happiness of the people of the two countries, for the cause of peace and progress of mankind. This is an honorable responsibility and an objective necessity, in line with the aspirations and interests of the two Parties and two peoples.
The congratulatory messages from Chinese leaders to Vietnamese leaders read: China and Vietnam are socialist friendly neighbors and a community of shared future of strategic significance. Over the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, during the arduous years of fighting for national independence and liberation, the two sides have stood shoulder to shoulder and supported each other. “The close friendship between Vietnam and China, both comrades and brothers” has become the most vivid expression of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. In the cause of building socialism, the two countries learn from each other, move forward together, continue to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, share the same aspirations, and share a common destiny, becoming the most obvious characteristics of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
On this occasion, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son also exchanged congratulatory messages with Head of the Central External Relations Commission of China Liu Jianchao and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.
