On the afternoon of April 9, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from April 8 to 10.

According to VNA, at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his satisfaction with the good cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Spanish Parliament through the two sides regularly exchanging delegations, closely coordinating and contributing many initiatives to regional and international parliamentary organizations.

The Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam is ready to be a bridge to promote the relationship between the Spanish Parliament and the ASEAN Parliament Council; It is recommended that the two sides maintain regular meetings of the Friendship MPs group, contributing to promoting cooperation between the legislative agency of the two countries.

The Spanish Prime Minister expressed his appreciation at the warm welcome of the Chairman of the National Assembly and the Vietnamese State leaders for the delegation; Agreeing with the assessment of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on the development steps in the relationship "Strategic partnership towards the future" Vietnam - Spain, as well as upgrading bilateral relations in the near future.

The two sides agreed to effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms, strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels, as well as between committees of the National Assembly of the two countries to exchange information and experience in the fields of legislative and supervision, contributing to strengthening understanding, strengthening political reliability, creating favorable conditions to promote cooperation in all fields; Continue to fully and effectively implement the Vietnam Free Trade Agreement - the European Union (EVFTA) to take advantage of these opportunities for this agreement to bring, strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture and sports, thereby promoting knowledge and exchange between the people of the two countries.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez emphasized his desire to promote cooperation between the two countries in areas of Spain's strengths such as infrastructure, railways, automobile industry, renewable energy, etc.; said that he would soon organize a meeting between the leaders of the Spanish Government and the Vietnamese community in Spain to listen to the opinions and aspirations of Vietnamese people in Spain.

The National Assembly Chairman thanked Spain for ratifying the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and suggested that Spain urge the remaining EU countries to soon ratify this agreement, contributing to promoting equal investment cooperation, facilitating Spanish businesses operating in investment and business in Vietnam.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that Spain give a voice so that EC can soon remove the IUU "yellow card" for Vietnam's seafood exports.

The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen coordination at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF) ...; promote multilateralism, the rule of law of international law to address regional and global challenges, especially in the context of the world experiencing extremely rapid and complex changes, including the East Sea issue.
