On April 26, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1653 merging Nghe An Pedagogical College into Nghe An University of Economics and changing the name of Nghe An University of Economics to Nghe An University under the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
Nghe An University is a public university with legal status, its own seal and account and operates in accordance with the provisions of law.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Nghe An province to direct Nghe An University of Economics, Nghe An Pedagogical College and relevant agencies and units to carry out the handover and acceptance of the personnel, finance, assets, and students of Nghe An Pedagogical College to Nghe An University of Economics and reorganize and rename Nghe An University of Economics to Nghe An University in accordance with the provisions of law; the process of merger, reorganization and renaming must ensure normal operation, legal and legitimate rights and interests of the parties involved, and prevent negativity, loss, and waste of finance and assets.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to direct and guide Nghe An University on training and granting degrees to students studying at Nghe An Pedagogical College in accordance with the provisions of law.
