Speaking at the meeting of Party and State leaders with revolutionary veterans, meritorious people, and typical policy families in the Central region (including provinces and cities from Quang Binh to Ninh Thuan) and the Central Highlands provinces on the afternoon of March 28, in Da Nang, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the achievements of the Vietnamese revolution are a miracle. But we want the country to be stronger, richer, and develop more, we cannot be satisfied with what we have.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his joy at being present in Da Nang to attend the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2024) as well as meeting with Party and State leaders with veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious people, and exemplary policy families in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
According to General Secretary To Lam, after 50 years of national reunification and 40 years of renovation, the cause of national construction has achieved many great achievements.
From a poor country devastated by war, Vietnam has now become a developed country, shouldering many international responsibilities. The size of the economy is currently at 470 billion USD, ranking 33rd in the world and in the top 20 countries in the world in terms of trade.
In terms of foreign affairs, Vietnam is not only expanding but also spreading prestige, highly appreciated by the international community. "As historical witnesses, you will certainly understand and feel this better than us," said General Secretary To Lam.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that our generation and the next generation must continuously commend the merits of our ancestors, not forget the help of friends and people to advance the world in the resistance wars.
General Secretary To Lam said: "I am very touched and thank you for your enthusiastic statements at today's meeting. These are dedicated and responsible statements, showing that you, the teachers, the uncles, and the comrades closely follow the situation of the country. We acknowledge the concerns, concerns, and recommendations of comrades, especially the issue of national defense, national defense and security when merging provinces and cities here".
At the meeting, the General Secretary spent most of his time informing delegates about the country's situation, especially issues related to the arrangement of the apparatus, merger of provinces and cities, policies and decisions, goals and tasks of the Party and State to develop the country in the coming time; requirements for all levels of government, ministries, civil servants... in the new situation.
