On December 1, at the Government headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the Chairman of Cuba's Prensa Latina News Agency Jorge Legañoa Alonso, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Welcoming President Jorge Legañoa Alonso and the Prensa Latina delegation to visit and work in Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba; through President Prensa La Argentina, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his regards to First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez; Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz; President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernenses and Cuban leaders.
Sharing and expressing sympathy for Cuba's difficulties and information about the situation and development strategic orientation of Vietnam, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam has always stood side by side with Cuba, shared development experiences with Cuba, and is ready to support Cuba in ensuring food security, energy, and telecommunications.
Analyzing the world situation, the revolutionary tasks of each country and the challenges as well as the development trends of world communications, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that VNA and Prensa Latina continue to cooperate more closely, maintain the effectiveness of cooperation activities; at the same time, find new cooperation methods, support improving professional expertise, technology, and communication infrastructure in line with the trend of the times.
The two companies need to provide accurate, accurate and timely information to domestic and foreign press systems; actively promote the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba that is extremely loyal, pure and rare in international relations; have a coordination mechanism in information to protect ideological foundations; detect and handle false information and bad and toxic information that affects the relationship between the two countries; share experiences and coordinate in key information routes.
Affirming that the Government always supports and will create favorable conditions for VNA in implementing cooperation programs and plans with Prensa Latina, the Prime Minister believes that with the affection of being close to many generations, VNA and Prensa Latina journalists will continue to effectively implement cooperation contents in the coming time; contributing to strongly promoting the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
President of Prensa Latina Jorge Legañoa Alonso respectfully thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation; deeply shared the loss that the Vietnamese people have suffered due to the recent storms and floods.
President Jorge Legañoa Alonso expressed his pride in the good relationship between the two countries, including the relationship between the two national news agencies as President Fidel Castro once said "For Vietnam, Cuba is ready to donate its blood! ", and vice versa for Cuba, Vietnam is also ready to donate and share, and the recent donation to support Cuba by the Vietnamese people is a proof.
Reviewing the cooperation process between Prensa Latina and VNA, President Jorge Legañoa Alonso affirmed that Prensa Latina will closely coordinate with VNA to more effectively implement the areas of cooperation as the Prime Minister has commented.
