On April 23, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu chaired the Q1/2026 quarterly meeting with provincial and city Party committees, Party committees, Party committees, 4 offices, and non-business units directly under the Central Government.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Chief of the Party Central Committee Office informed about the situation and outstanding work results in the first quarter of 2026; some difficulties, limitations, obstacles and proposals, recommendations; issues that need to be focused on leading and directing to be resolved in the second quarter of 2026 and in the coming time.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs provided specialized information on some new points and core contents in Regulation No. 392-QD/TW dated January 6, 2026 of the Politburo on unified management of foreign affairs activities.

Concluding the conference, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that the Secretariat acknowledges and highly appreciates the efforts and endeavors of provincial and city Party committees, agencies, and units in leading and directing the implementation of key political tasks of the first quarter of 2026.
The entire Party, people, and army have been determined and made efforts to overcome difficulties, remove bottlenecks, and basically successfully complete the set targets and tasks. The macroeconomy is basically stable, inflation is controlled, major balances are ensured; GDP reached over 7.8%; 23/34 localities grew by over 8%, of which 4 localities reached over 10%.
Emphasizing that the tasks for the second quarter of 2026 are very large, urgent, and stressful, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat requests agencies, localities, and units to promote the pioneering and exemplary spirit; strongly innovate thinking, methods, and working styles in a practical and effective direction, increase action, proactiveness, and active exchange and close coordination in resolving regular and unexpected tasks. At the same time, it is required to reduce meetings, reduce documents and paperwork; necessary meetings must be concise and practical.
Focus on core tasks, striving for double-digit growth
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized the requirement to drastically organize the implementation of the Central Committee's conclusions, especially tasks and solutions to achieve the double-digit growth target; focus on removing difficulties and obstacles, thoroughly handling slow-progress investment projects and unfinished projects; accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, and improve the efficiency of resource use.
The Standing Committee of the Secretariat noted that it is necessary to ensure the progress and quality of construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes; promptly handle redundant land and housing facilities, avoid waste; pay attention to medical work, especially periodic health check-ups for people.
Regarding socio-economic development, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized the requirement to resolutely maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, ensure major balances of the economy; promptly and effectively implement the Conclusion of the 2nd Central Conference with the task of striving for double-digit growth, identifying science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driving forces.
Regarding the proposals and recommendations of agencies and localities, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat requests central agencies to resolve them promptly and within their authority, without shirking or evading responsibility.
