Regulations on awarding the Third Class Labor Medal to individuals with a long-term contribution process

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 21 of Decree 152/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates: The Third Class Labor Medal is awarded or posthumously awarded to individuals as prescribed in Point g, Clause 1, Article 44 of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, with a long-term contributions in agencies, organizations, and units and meeting one of the following standards:

a) Continuously participating in 02 resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, holding one of the following positions:

Heads, Standing Committees of provincial and municipal Party Committees directly under the central government, Vice Chairmen of People's Councils, People's Committees, Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities for 05 years.

Directors of departments, heads of departments, branches, Vice Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committee and Heads of provincial-level socio-political organizations, Secretaries, Chairmen of People's Councils, People's Committees of districts, towns, cities under provinces and cities under centrally-run cities, Deputy Directors or equivalent positions from 06 years to less than 10 years;

b) Continuously participating in the resistance war against American imperialism or in building and defending the Fatherland, having held one of the following positions:

Director General and equivalent from 03 years to less than 05 years;

Deputy Director General and equivalent from 05 years to less than 08 years;

Department head and equivalent from 06 years to less than 10 years;

Deputy Director and equivalent from 10 years to less than 15 years.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, individuals who have made long-term contributions to agencies, organizations, and units and meet one of the above standards will be considered for the Third Class Labor Medal.
