Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has signed Decision No. 1744 promulgating the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
Accordingly, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to include in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List: Traditional Lim Festival in Lim Town, Lien Bao Commune, Noi Du Commune, Tien Du District, Bac Ninh Province.
Chairmen of People's Committees at all levels where intangible cultural heritage is located are included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, within the scope of their duties and powers, and shall conduct state management in accordance with the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.
In the 18th century, Lim Festival developed into a large-scale festival for the entire Inner Duoi, including six communes and wards: Lung Giang, Noi Duoi (Dinh Ca, Lo Bao), Noi Duoi Khanh, Noi Duoi Nam, Xuan O and Tien Du communal house gate ward (later called Noi Duoi Dong).
The Association is also associated with the names of many cultural figures such as Do Nguyen Thuy, Mrs. Mu A... - who play an important role in preserving customs and developing festivals in the Lim region.
From the scale of Lim village (Dinh Ca), the festival has expanded to a general festival, where villages in the region gather together, maintaining the connection of villages and communes. This is clearly demonstrated through the ceremony of bringing the colors from Dinh Ca communal house to Lo Bao communal house - a symbol of the unity and historical connection between villages.
Lim Festival is not simply a traditional festival, but a vibrant cultural space, expressing the historical value and community solidarity in the practice of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
Lim Association is a space to preserve and promote Quan Ho folk song - the soul of the festival. Lyrical songs such as Canh singing, Ship singing, lots singing, Confucian singing... not only recreate traditional teachings but also create conditions for heritage to be continuously taught and practiced. This is the reason why Quan Ho is recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The Lim Festival, with a harmonious combination of traditional rituals and vibrant cultural activities, especially Quan Ho, has created a "living museum" - a place to preserve and spread the unique cultural, historical and religious values of the Kinh Bac region.
