Rich tourism potential
An attractive destination that visitors cannot miss when coming to Dong Thap is Sa Dec Flower Village (Sa Dec City). After many generations of cultivation and improvement, the area of ornamental flowers here has reached over 950 hectares. In addition to providing year-round products domestically and internationally, this place also serves tourists to visit and admire.
Ms. Huynh Thi Hoai Thu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province informed that Dong Thap is planning to organize the 2nd Sa Dec Flower - ornamental plants Festival, after the success of the event held in early 2024. The event promises to bring interesting experiences to serve tourists, contributing to positioning the Dong Thap tourism brand.
If you want to admire the wild natural beauty, Dong Thap will satisfy visitors at Tram Chim National Park (Tam Nong district). The flooded land has an area of about 7,300 hectares and is home to about 130 species of plants, hundreds of species of reptiles, dozens of fish and more than 198 species of water birds.
Currently, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province is implementing the Project "Conservation and development of Red-crowned Cranes in Tram Chim National Park for the period 2022 - 2032". This project aims to restore and develop Red-crowned Cranes by raising and releasing them back into the wild.
According to Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong, Red-crowned Cranes will be a sign of environmental change, marking the recovery of the bird's nest National Park, helping environmental protection work, becoming a foundation for sustainability.
If you want to travel to the "red address", Dong Thap will not disappoint visitors when having Xeo Quit Relic Site (Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province). Xeo Quit is the Cach Mang base (since 1960 1975) of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee leading the people's resistance war against the US. During the resistance war, Xeo Quit suffered many bombs and bullets from the enemy.
In the past 2 years, Xeo Quit has welcomed a large number of young people to visit and take photos because of its mysterious beauty. Ms. Dang Bich Ngan (a tourist from Can Tho) expressed: "This is truly an ideal destination for those who want to learn about history, immerse themselves in nature and experience the culture of the Mekong Delta".
Bringing tourism to double-digit growth
In May 2025, Dong Thap province issued a plan to implement double-digit tourism growth in the area. The province focuses on promoting with focus, key points, positioning tourism brands associated with unique cultural identity.
The double-digit tourism growth plan was proposed by Dong Thap to effectively implement the 2025 tourism stimulus program, promoting the tourism brand "Dong Thap - pure like Hon Sen"; ensuring the goal of welcoming 5 million visitors this year, total tourism revenue reaching over VND 2,400 billion.
According to the report, in the first 5 months of 2025, Dong Thap tourism welcomed about 2.6 million visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at 1,440 billion VND. This shows that the opportunity to complete this goal is not far away.
Above all, one of the province's steady steps is to have and is taking the heart to build Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site into a gathering place for the love of two great figures of the country: Patriotic Vineland Father Nguyen Sinh Sac and the great President Ho Chi Minh.
The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province said that from an unknown and unknown locality, Dong Thap has now left its mark in the hearts of friends from near and far with many characteristics. To further promote the special value of the Relic Site, Dong Thap has requested approval and conducted a project to restore, upgrade and prepare a scientific dossier to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and classification as a Special National Monument in the coming time.
