Many welfare policies attract labor
At Dong An 2 Industrial Park (Binh Duong ward), many businesses are recruiting a large number of workers after Tet. Notably, Hy Long Garment Co., Ltd. recruits 200 skilled garment workers and about 30 workers in many other positions. The company hangs large signs, and human resources staff also set up tables and seats in front of the gate to welcome workers. However, only about 10-20 workers come to find out information every day.
This business also introduced many salary and bonus policies to attract workers: basic salary 5.5 million VND, attendance bonus 1 million VND, housing support 600,000 VND, gasoline and travel allowance 600,000 VND, child support 300,000 VND/child (applied to people with children from 6-12 years old), skill assessment bonus from 300,000 - 900,000 VND. The average income of workers is from 9.2 - 10 million VND (working 8 hours), not including overtime. The company supports lunch and overtime meals 30,000 VND each portion. The company supports 1 million VND for workers to introduce new colleagues.
Similarly, Kahong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (specializing in manufacturing electronic components) also introduced many salary and bonus policies to attract labor. The company's human resources department said that at the beginning of the year, the business needs to recruit 500 general workers. The business sets up tables in front of the gate to find workers. Workers are consulted on job positions, income levels and welfare regimes. When they feel suitable, workers fill in the information on the application form, submit applications and can come for a trial the next day.
This business offers an attractive income level of 14-18 million VND/month. In which, basic salary 5,700,000 VND/month, allowance 1.1 million VND/month, support for examination (quality and skills) from 35,000 VND to 100,000 VND/day.
In addition, workers also have income from overtime of about 40,000 VND/hour.
Businesses still have difficulty recruiting workers
According to records, currently the demand for labor recruitment in Ho Chi Minh City is very large, but the recruitment efficiency is not high.
At the recruitment point of Kahong Vietnam Co., Ltd., only a few dozen workers come to find jobs every day. The demand is high but the number of workers is small, so the human resources department has to organize some mobile recruitment points. Human resources staff will go to densely populated areas to find workers.
Pungkook Saigon III factory (An Phu ward) is also in need of recruiting about 500 workers.
Ms. Le Ngoc Anh, in charge of human resources of the factory, said that the enterprise is promoting recruitment in all areas in the Northern region of Ho Chi Minh City. The factory ensures an income of about 10 million VND/month for workers and skilled workers with even higher incomes. However, currently, the number of workers returning to Ho Chi Minh City to find jobs is very small.
In previous years, about 20 workers came to Pungkook Saigon III Factory every day to find jobs. However, currently, only about 2 workers go looking for jobs every day. Recruitment demand is very high, but supply is limited.
The scarcity of labor also makes labor supply businesses face difficulties. The labor supply company in Thoi Hoa ward said that it is needing to recruit about 2,000 workers for many businesses in the North of Ho Chi Minh City. The unit has implemented many solutions such as going to the provinces in the Central Highlands and the North to recruit workers. However, this labor force also often quits their jobs, so the labor supply is not sufficient for production businesses.
According to the assessment of human resources officers of companies, the reason for labor shortages is that the labor source from provinces to Ho Chi Minh City is small, because currently in many provinces and cities there are also industrial parks and factories attracting local labor force.
