On February 9, Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction) sent a report to the Ministry of Construction on the implementation situation and preparation for acceptance and temporary operation of the main route of component project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
According to Project Management Board 85, to date, the main expressway route from Long Thanh intersection to the boundary of component project 3 has completed the entire 18.2km of asphalt concrete road surface. Contractors are focusing on completing the traffic safety system and the remaining items on the route, expected to complete the entire route before February 12 to organize traffic opening and put it into temporary operation.
At the Long Thanh intersection, branches N6 (Dau Giay - Vung Tau) and N7 (Vung Tau - Dau Giay) have completed bridges and asphalt concrete pavement, meeting the conditions for opening traffic to connect with the main expressway. The two bridge branches on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway overcoming the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway have been put into temporary operation since December 2025. The remaining branches connecting with component project 1 are expected to be completed before March 1.
At the Long Thanh airport intersection, completion is expected before March 1. However, because Long Thanh airport has not been put into operation, these branches are temporarily not directly connected to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
At Tan Hiep intersection, the bridges have been paved with asphalt concrete, and the bridgehead road will be completed before March 1 when conditions are met to connect with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
Regarding the traffic organization plan, Project Management Board 85 has submitted to the Vietnam Road Administration a dossier on the traffic organization plan. Currently, Project Management Board 85 is continuing to coordinate with relevant competent units to agree on the traffic organization plan for the temporary operation phase, which is expected to be completed before February 12, 2026.
To ensure progress and operational safety, Project Management Board 85 proposed that the Ministry of Construction give opinions to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to soon put the T2 route of the Long Thanh airport project into operation, and at the same time coordinate to unify a plan to ensure safety along the route.
Project Management Board 85 also requested the Ministry of Construction to direct VEC to proactively deploy toll collection items on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, as well as consider allowing Project Management Board 85 to sign a contract to hire a unit to manage and operate the expressway during the temporary operation phase, in order to promptly handle arising problems and ensure traffic safety.
