At 1:48 a.m. on July 29, the Fire Fighting Team of Area 1 received a report from Center 114 (Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department) about a fire that occurred at a house at 23 Nguyen Binh Street, Gia Vien Ward, Hai Phong City.
Immediately after receiving the news, the leaders of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized forces and vehicles to urgently arrive at the scene.
When arriving, the authorities discovered that the first floor was on fire, toxic smoke was covering the entire building, and the rolling doors were locked from within, making access difficult. In the house, there were 5 people trapped.
The fire fighting team of area 1 quickly coordinated with Gia Vien ward police to deploy a ladder to rescue the two people to safety. Next, a reconnaissance team was sent to the floors to search and guide the remaining 3 people to the balcony of the 4th floor, and at the same time broke the rolling door and organized a spraying to put out the fire.
By 2:05 a.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. 5 people trapped, including the homeowner couple, 1 homeowner's daughter and 2 grandchildren, were rescued safely. During the rescue process, an officer of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department was exposed to smoke and was taken to the City Police Hospital for health check-ups.
Initially, it was determined that the fire did not cause any human casualties, and property damage statistics are being conducted. The cause of the fire was investigated and clarified by the authorities according to regulations.
