Liberation of Lam Dong - Da Lat is a historic victory
According to the history book of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, after liberating the Central Highlands and some Central provinces, with the support of key units, the Lam Dong armed forces and the masses rose up to fight the enemy.
Our army and people won strategic victories in the towns of B'lao, Bao Loc and Dong Do (Di Linh). On March 28, 1975, Lam Dong province was completely liberated.
After the liberation, the army continued to attack, chase the enemy, and implement the plan to liberate Tuyen Duc - Da Lat. In Da Lat, the enemy was confused, the spirit of resistance collapsed.
On the evening of March 31, 1975, the enemy burned down a ammunition depot in Nui Ba, Cam Ly airport, Truong Vo Bi and withdrew from Da Lat. From April 1 and 2, 1975, the people of the outlying hamlets have been in control of the situation.
On the morning of April 3, 1975, the liberation army advanced to Da Lat, and at about 8:00 a.m. the same day, the liberation flag flew over the Tuyen Duc - Da Lat Administrative Building.
Tuyen Duc province and Da Lat town were completely liberated. At noon on April 4, 1975, the forces of Tuyen Duc province and the Da Lat Town Party Committee entered the town to stabilize the situation.
The general advance and rebellion of the Lam Dong and Tuyen Duc army ended victoriously, destroying more than 27,000 enemy names, liberating hundreds of thousands of people and strategic areas.
The liberation of Lam Dong and Tuyen Duc - Da Lat created favorable conditions for the liberation army to advance to Saigon, contributing to the final victory and national reunification on April 30, 1975 .
Changing strongly
After 50 years of liberation, Lam Dong has made a strong transformation from a land devastated by war with backward infrastructure and a difficult life for its people.
Up to now, the province has developed remarkably in many aspects. In 2024, GRDP per capita will reach 103.6 million VND, the economy will maintain stable growth, budget revenue will exceed 13,000 billion VND.
Infrastructure for transportation, education, and health have been focused on investment, people's lives, especially ethnic minorities, have been significantly improved.
Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Hong Thai, affirmed that he will continue the achievements of the previous generation to build a rich and unique homeland.
Local departments and branches continue to remove difficulties for key projects and promote investment attraction. The province also strives to collect a budget of VND15,000 billion in 2025, while focusing on disbursing public investment capital, contributing to promoting GRDP growth of 9% or more.
