On September 26, the An Giang Provincial People's Council held a 3rd session (special session) to approve the draft resolution on the Decision on staffing of cadres and civil servants in agencies of local governments and the total staffing of cadres and civil servants of local governments at the commune level; the number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget in public service units of An Giang province in 2025 after the arrangement.
Decision on staffing of cadres and civil servants in provincial government agencies and the total staffing of cadres and civil servants of commune-level local government agencies; number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget in public service units of An Giang province in 2025 after the arrangement is 70,420 positions. Of which, the number of cadres and civil servants in agencies of local governments in the province is 2,589. The total number of cadres and civil servants of local and commune-level authorities is 7,541 (including the Commune-level Military Command). The number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget in public service units is 60,290 people.
The Provincial People's Council assigned the Provincial People's Committee to implement this Resolution. During the implementation process, the Provincial People's Committee was decided to adjust the staffing of commune-level cadres and civil servants, the number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget in public service units out of the total assigned in Clause 2, Clause 3, Article 1 of this Resolution.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, implementing the policies of the Politburo and the Secretariat on rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a model of organizing local government at 2 levels, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 202 on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units and the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1654 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of An Giang province in 2025. An Giang province (after the arrangement) and 102 commune-level administrative units officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Based on the policy of the Politburo, the Secretariat issued Conclusion No. 163 on implementing a number of contents and tasks when reorganizing the apparatus and administrative units. The Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee has issued Decision No. 212 on temporary assignment of staff in the province's political system in 2025.
In order to promptly implement the policy of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee found it necessary to submit to the Provincial People's Council a Resolution deciding on the staffing of cadres and civil servants in agencies of the provincial government and the total number of cadres and civil servants of the local government at the commune level, the number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget in public service units of An Giang province in 2025 after being arranged according to the prescribed authority.
The purpose is to manage and use civil servant payroll, the number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget is guaranteed according to regulations, meeting job requirements, and in accordance with job positions of agencies and units.
