On July 8, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thao - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Luong Commune (Phu Tho Province) said that the locality had just discovered a case of an abandoned newborn baby in the area.
Accordingly, at around 9:30 p.m. on July 6, the People's Committee of Hien Luong commune received a report from Mr. Do Tien Thinh (44 years old, residing in zone 4, Hien Luong commune) about the discovery of a newborn baby girl in the area of the Cultural House of zone 4 (old Hien Luong commune).
At that time, Mr. Thinh discovered a gray plastic basket placed at the side of the cultural house. When he opened the basket cap to check, he saw a newborn girl inside, wearing a blue hat, wrapped in a white diaper on the outside, and a pink diaper on the inside.
Next to the child was a piece of paper with the words: "Due to difficult circumstances, I cannot raise my child, so whoever meets him will help raise him, my child is Nguyen Linh C, born at 7:00 a.m. on July 5, 2025".
Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of Hien Luong commune coordinated with the Commune Health Station to take the child home for monitoring, health check-ups and issued a notice to search for relatives.
"The baby is currently being temporarily handed over to Mr. Thinh's family and medical staff for care and health monitoring. After the prescribed notice period (7 working days), if no relatives come to receive it, the locality will carry out the following procedures according to the law, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thao added.
