Lao Cai - Mr. Trieu Ton Yet - Secretary of the Party Cell of Ngan Vang village, Phong Du Ha commune bravely rushed into the rushing water, saving 3 workers from danger.

According to the People's Committee of Phong Du Ha commune, on the evening of September 29, prolonged heavy rain caused floodwaters to rise, threatening many households and works in the area.

In the face of an emergency situation, Mr. Trieu Ton Yet (born in 1990, Secretary of the Party Cell of Ngan Vang village) promptly stretched a warning day at Coc Nhay bridge to prevent danger to the people.

At around 8:20 p.m. the same day, the outside rain was getting heavier and heavier. When he went to check the Coc Nhay bridge area, Mr. Yet discovered that the water was rising and sweeping away nearly half of the apartment of Mr. Ban Phuc Dinh, a household in the village.

While the area was without power and mobile networks, communication with the village's Flood and Storm Prevention Team was interrupted.

"At this time, I immediately returned, mobilizing the young man and the villagers to run to help Mr. Dinh's family. Under the burning flashlights, amidst the sound of rain in the forest and the pouring floodwaters, everyone promptly moved all the cinnamon and valuable assets of his family to a high place to safety," said Mr. Yet.

When Mr. Dinh's family is temporarily stable, there is no longer any danger to people and property. Observing around, Mr. Yet saw that there was still electricity from the Xuan Tam hydropower plant.

3 workers at Xuan Tam Hydropower Plant, Mr. Trieu Ton Nhi, Trieu Le Huy, and Ha Van Hieu, were still trapped in the operation area. Despite the strong water, Mr. Yet swam through the stream, helping them get to shore safely.

Mr. Yet said: "At that time, I simply thought that human life was paramount. If it is delayed, they may lose their lives. After taking them back to the village, he quickly arranged temporary accommodation for these 3 workers.

In the early morning of September 30, when the water receded, Mr. Yet and the working group of Phong Du Ha commune returned to inspect Xuan Tam hydropower plant and discovered that the entire operating area had been swept away by floodwaters.

According to the leader of Phong Du Ha commune, if it were not for the brave and drastic actions of the Party Cell Secretary, the 3 workers could not have escaped the disaster.
