On the morning of July 9, the Ministry of Home Affairs held a preliminary review of the work in the first 6 months of the year and deployed key tasks for the last 6 months of 2026 for the home affairs sector.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Home Affairs highly appreciated the efforts of the entire sector in basically completing important targets and tasks in the first 6 months of the year.
These results come from close direction from Party and Government leaders and the persistent efforts of the contingent of officials of the Home Affairs sector.

The head of the Ministry of Home Affairs noted that the entire sector must change its thinking, shift strongly from the stage of building and promulgating institutions to the stage of organizing implementation and law enforcement in practice.
The Minister requested that at this conference, delegates should evaluate objectively, frankly and substantively the results achieved.
It is necessary to look directly at units and localities that have not met the requirements, clearly point out limitations and shortcomings. In particular, it is necessary to deeply analyze the causes, which are subjective causes, and which are objective causes, so that there are radical solutions to overcome them in the second half of 2026," the Minister emphasized.
According to Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang, in the first 6 months of the year, salary work has closely followed the socio-economic development situation to promptly advise on perfecting institutions suitable to the actual situation.

The Ministry has submitted to the Government for promulgation a decree on the new basic salary level. Specifically, from July 1, 2026, more than 2 million cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces will have their salaries increased by an additional 8% compared to June 30, 2026 (increasing the basic salary from 2.34 million VND/month to 2.53 million VND/month). The regional minimum wage is adjusted to increase by an average of 7.2% from January 1, 2026.
Along with more than 2 million cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces having their salaries increased from July 1, more than 45% of communes and wards have received regional allowances, and more than 4.7% of communes and wards have received special allowances after arranging and organizing the 2-level local government model.

Regarding tasks for the last 6 months of the year, Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh emphasized that the highest goal is to complete 100% of the workload according to the set plan, without allowing stagnation or overdue documents and tasks to occur.
The Minister also suggested that localities with good practices and creative models in personnel management, staff streamlining and administrative reform should boldly share at the conference. The Ministry of Home Affairs will summarize, research and replicate these effective models nationwide.
