People trust in the leadership of the Party
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, in the spring of 1975, the Politburo and the Central Military Commission decided to launch a Central Highlands campaign to destroy an important part of the enemy's vitality.
Thereby, aiming to liberate the Southern Central Highlands provinces, implement strategic division and create a new strategic position on the battlefield of the entire Southern region.
The liberation army decided to choose Buon Ma Thuot town as the main target of the Central Highlands campaign.

Also according to the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, at around 2:00 a.m. on March 10, 1975, the Central Highlands Campaign Command issued an order in all directions to simultaneously fire fire at Buon Ma Thuot town.
By the morning of March 11, 1975, our infantry, tanks and artillery pieces focused on attacking the enemy base. The opponent fiercely resisted.
But by 10:00 a.m. on March 11, our army had mastered the targets, captured the enemy's base, and captured the leader. Our army has completely liberated and taken possession of Buon Ma Thuot town.
One of the soldiers who directly participated in the Buon Ma Thuot battle was veteran Ho Quang Tri (born in 1939).
Mr. Ho Quang Tri - squad leader of platoon 2, regiment 25 - recalled: "The opening match against Buon Ma Thuot was very fierce, my teammates and I struggled to approach the important goals. At the time of the liberation of Buon Ma Thuot, I and some brothers were both happy and excited. Because many comrades and teammates have sacrificed themselves before they could see the victory".

According to Mr. To Tan Tai (commonly known as Ama H'Oanh) - former Secretary of the Buon Ma Thuot Town Party Committee, the role of the masses in the victory over Buon Ma Thuot is very important. The people and our army made a historic victory.
Thanks to the support of ethnic minorities in the area, our army has taken over a large area of land. The ethnic people in the area have great confidence in the leadership of our Party.
