In the afternoon of August 23, a landslide occurred on Dang Ba Hat road, Hong Gai ward, Quang Ninh province, causing traffic disruption.
The landslide location is near the access to Bai Chay bridge. The entire road surface is covered with soil and sludge from above.
Immediately after the landslide, the People's Committee of Hong Gai ward and functional forces were present at the scene, blockading both ends, and guiding people to take other roads.

Present at the scene in the late afternoon of August 23, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that water and mud from the positive taluy continued to flow down the road surface.
The soil and rocks above have been waterlogged due to continuous rain for many days and it is still raining, so the landslide situation is forecast to continue.
At some nearby high points, there are signs of minor landslides.

Dang Ba Hat Pass Road is one of the roads leading to Bai Chay bridge and is popular with tourists because it has many cafes with beautiful views of Ha Long Bay.
Recovering traffic on this road will take a long time, because at least we have to wait until the rain stops.

In addition to the landslide point on Dang Ba Hat pass road, in Hong Gai ward, on the afternoon of August 23, there was also a landslide into people's houses in Tran Hung Dao 4 area.
In the afternoon of the same day, the embankment of a residential area in alley 70 Hau Can street, Bai Chay ward, collapsed, causing Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, 56 years old, to break his leg. Functional forces approached and took the victim to the emergency room.
Landslide points also appeared in Van Don, Cua Ong, Ha Tu, Cam Pha, Ba Che, Tien Yen, Hoanh Mo, Luc Hon, Ky Thuong, Dam Ha, Cai Chien...
According to a report by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, as of 4:00 PM on August 23, there were no casualties in the province.
Heavy rain has caused flooding on over 443 hectares of rice, 6.4 hectares of crops and 30 hectares of fruit trees. Localities have organized initial remediation to ensure safety.
Preliminary damage caused by storms and floods to date is about 15 billion VND.
Forecast, heavy rain will continue until the end of August 24, with common rainfall from 100-200 mm, locally over 400 mm.
Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requests localities to continue to promptly update on the flood situation for people; arrange forces to be on duty at spillways, rivers, and streams, resolutely preventing people from passing by, fishing, or collecting firewood in dangerous areas.
At the same time, continue to review and immediately relocate households in areas at risk of landslides; clear drainage systems, urgently clear landslide soil and rocks into residential areas and traffic routes; proactively lower the water level of regulating lakes when conditions permit. Local forces and vehicles are maintained on duty to be ready to support people and handle arising situations.
