On September 4, the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port Area Transport Project Management Board; Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company (Trungnam E&C - a member of Trung Nam Group) and related units held the first cable-stayed cable-stayed ceremony of the Phuoc An bridge project.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - attended the program, surveyed the actual strengthening of the first cable-stayed cable at the T38 bridge piers and inspected the construction progress.
The representative of the joint venture of contractors (Nam Nam E&C and Trung Chinh) said that according to the technical design, the entire project has 96 bunches of cable-stayed cables and each bunch of cables has 43 cables.
The first cable-stayed stretching marks an important milestone in the project construction process. Thereby demonstrating the determination to speed up progress, ensure safety and quality of the project, contributing to the early completion of the project to connect key traffic routes and promote economic development in the key economic region of the South.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh - Director of the Traffic Project Management Board of Cai Mep Port - Thi Vai, the project investor - said that regarding site clearance, Ho Chi Minh City has completed it, while Dong Nai has only reached 3.82ha/6.73ha, and is implementing phase 2 of compensation work.
The project includes 5 construction packages; in which package No. 38 (from the beginning of the route to the T36-T37 connection) reached 63.93% of the construction value; package No. 39 (from pillar T37 to T40) reached 61.37% of the construction value. Packages 40 and 41 (constructed on the Dong Nai side) have just been implemented; and Package 42 (asphalt concrete and lighting) is organizing the selection of contractors.
After surveying the actual construction of the first cable-stayed cable at the project and listening to the reports from the units, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho highly appreciated the efforts of the investor and the construction units to overcome the obstacles, ensuring the project's progress.
According to Mr. Tho, the Phuoc An bridge project was built by Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (formerly) to shorten the time for goods to go from the western provinces to Cai Mep - Ti Vai port area and vice versa.
"I hope that in the coming time, the units will continue to make efforts to implement the construction, ensure safety and progress to complete the project according to the set plan, and put it into operation as soon as possible," Mr. Tho emphasized.
The Phuoc An bridge project is a national key transport infrastructure project, with a total length of 4.38km; in which the main bridge section is 525m long, including 3 spans, 27m wide, and 6 lanes. The project has an clearance of 55m and a clearance of 135m, ensuring the clearance of ships with a capacity of 30,000 DWT. The total investment of the project is about 4,879 billion VND, expected to be completed in May 2027.
After completion and putting into use, the project will directly connect Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port area (HCMC) with Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway (Dong Nai). Thereby, contributing to reducing pressure on National Highway 51, completing the national logistics system and promoting regional economic development.
