On June 11, the Cao Bang Provincial Civil Defense Command held a conference to deploy disaster prevention, response and recovery work in 2026.
Attending and directing the conference were Mr. Le Hai Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command. Also attending were leaders of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police and representatives of departments, branches, and armed forces units in the area.
According to the report at the conference, in 2025 and the first 6 months of 2026, natural disasters diễn biến phức tạp, causing great damage to people, property and infrastructure.
In 2025 alone, Cao Bang province recorded 22 natural disasters, including the impact of storms No. 10 and No. 11 causing heavy rain, floods, and landslides on a large scale, with estimated damage of more than 4,274 billion VND. In the first 6 months of 2026, the province continued to experience 6 natural disasters with total damage of over 104 billion VND.
Faced with that situation, the Provincial Civil Defense Command has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue many plans and response plans; directed localities to review and update response scenarios according to each level of risk; strengthen forecasting, warning and propaganda to improve disaster prevention and control skills for people.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing difficulties and limitations in disaster prevention and control, such as limited forecasting capacity in some localities, equipment for response not meeting practical requirements, and the implementation of the "4 on-the-spot" motto at the grassroots level still facing many inadequacies.
On this occasion, the Provincial Military Command signed a memorandum of understanding with relevant units to strengthen coordination in forecasting, warning, information exchange, mobilizing forces, vehicles, materials and ensuring logistics to respond to incidents, natural disasters, and search and rescue.
Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa requested levels, sectors, and localities to continue to improve the spirit of proactive prevention, complete response plans close to reality, strengthen training and drills for shock forces at the grassroots level and ensure sufficient resources and equipment to serve rescue and relief.
He emphasized improving the effectiveness of coordination between sectors and localities to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, and protect the safety of people's lives and property.
