Mr. Nguyen Tan Tiem - Manager of Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project (under Son Hai Group) said that on the morning of February 27, when checking the construction site at the expressway section through Xuan Dong Commune, Dien Khanh District, the protective fence on both sides of the expressway was stolen.

According to Mr. Tiem, the thieves may have taken advantage of the deserted night to commit the above act.
A total of 21 stakes were removed, equivalent to 60m of fence, of which 13 stakes were lost, the rest were lying around the scene. Estimated damage is about 50 million VND, not including the cost of mobilizing human resources and machinery for reconstruction.
"This is a serious incident, causing traffic insecurity, affecting the project handover progress on April 30 because all materials have to be imported from abroad" - Mr. Tiem emphasized.
Currently, the project contractor consortium has sent a document requesting Project Management Board 7 and Khanh Hoa Provincial Police to coordinate in inspecting and handling the case.

Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project is 8 months ahead of schedule
The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project has a total investment of nearly VND 12,000 billion, has reached more than 80% of the workload and is expected to open to traffic before the April 30 holiday, 8 months ahead of schedule.
This route is one of 12 North-South expressway projects in phase 2, of which 7 projects are expected to be completed by the middle of this year, the rest will be open to traffic by the end of 2025.
The completion of these projects will help connect the entire North-South expressway axis from Lang Son to Ca Mau, creating great convenience for transportation and regional economic development.
