On the morning of December 4, Ham Thanh Commune Police (Lam Dong Province) deployed forces into the forest to rescue 6 surveyors on duty in the Ka Pet Lake project area.
This group was stuck due to sudden floodwaters, causing the river through the project area to rise and flow rapidly.
Previously, on December 3, 6 people went into the forest area of Ham Thanh commune to measure and serve the investment procedures of the Ka Pet lake project.
By the afternoon of the same day, heavy rain combined with water from upstream caused the river to rise rapidly, blocking the road out of the forest.The group stayed overnight in isolation.
On the morning of December 4, Ham Thanh Commune Police brought a life jacket to the scene. The authorities tied ropes to trees on both banks, assisting each person in swinging a rope and swimming across the river in strong water conditions. All were brought out safely.
Also in Ham Thanh commune, on the evening of December 3, a man riding a motorbike fell and was swept away by the water and went missing.
The authorities are searching through the night. On the morning of December 4, the victim's body was found.
