On December 19, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 officially opened at Gia Lam Airport, Long Bien District, Hanoi.
The event lasted for 4 days, from December 19-22, marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
The exhibition brings together more than 200 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from more than 30 different countries such as the US, China, Russia, India, Israel, France, UK, and Spain. The exhibition area is more than 100,000m2, of which the indoor area is up to 15,000m2 and the outdoor area is more than 20,000m2, double that of 2022.
At the exhibition, Viettel Group’s booth stood out with military and civilian products carrying the message “Protech to Protect”. Viettel introduced more than 80 military products and 30 civilian products, impressing international delegations right from the opening ceremony.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper, Major General Tao Duc Thang emphasized: “Viettel is very proud to be selected as one of the important, key units participating in the exhibition, both in the civilian and military fields.
Viettel's first goal when participating in this event is to, together with units in the Ministry of National Defense, demonstrate the defense potential, the strength, intelligence and bravery of the Vietnam People's Army. This is also an opportunity for Viettel to join hands to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam as the host country of a major event."
Typical products include 1,000 km range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), beam-forming radars and cyber warfare systems.
In addition to military products, Viettel also introduced 6 groups of defense economic solutions, including: 5G Ecosystem, Viettel Logistics Infrastructure, Smart Factory, Green Energy, Smart City and smart solutions serving people.
Notably, some dual-use products using modern technology, leading the market, internationally competitive, attract much attention. These include beam-forming technology applied in both radar and 5G devices to create stronger and more accurate transmission signals; Computer vision technology applied in UAVs and smart factories; Big data processing applied in command, control and operation of smart cities; Virtual reality (AR/VR) applied in training models and driver training models, digital entertainment applications, etc.
