Traffic light systems play an important role in organizing and regulating vehicles, ensuring order and traffic safety on routes.
In Hanoi, in recent times, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police has coordinated with functional units to continue investing and upgrading modern traffic light systems; installing surveillance cameras at key intersections, effectively supporting traffic command and operation and preventing congestion and accidents.
"Currently, the light cycle at each intersection is flexibly installed according to each time frame and actual vehicle traffic volume. The adjustment is done through a smart traffic management system, which can measure vehicles to promptly change the light cycle appropriately," informed the Hanoi Traffic Police Department.

According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, the change of light cycle is carried out before and after peak hours (ponight from 6:30 to 8:30, afternoon from 16:00 to 19:30 - PV), at 0:00 every day or when the number of vehicles is recorded to increase dramatically.
The goal of the adjustment is to optimize vehicle flow and limit congestion.
However, the authorities also recommend that during the adjustment process, some phenomena may appear, such as: not displaying the countdown number, red light or long-lasting green light after the counting cycle ends, or many signals are turned on at the same time.
"This is a temporary technical phenomenon that usually ends after a light cycle. People participating in traffic need to pay attention to observe and strictly comply with traffic light signals and command and control signals of traffic police on duty at intersections to ensure safety," the Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommended.

In case the adjustment takes an unusual amount of time, affects traffic activities, or records problems related to the traffic light system, please report to the Traffic Control Center, Hanoi Traffic Police Department via phone number: 0692.196.550 for timely support and handling.
