On June 25, the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, the section from Thu Duc intersection towards Dong Nai bridge (Thu Duc city) fell into a state of serious congestion. Thousands of vehicles, mainly trucks and containers, lined up "inching up" on Hanoi Highway, stretching about 3 km.

According to Lao Dong reporters, until more than 10am the same day, the traffic was still congested and moving slowly. Many drivers appeared tired and upset because they had to "stand still" for hours in the hot sun.
Mr. Hung - a truck driver - said: "I have been carrying goods since early morning, but it has been an hour since I left the jammed area. The cause of the problem is unknown and there has been a lot of traffic jams."

Traffic congestion in this area occurs frequently and the main cause is determined to be due to a lane near Tan Van area being fenced off to serve the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project.
In addition, the location near Dong Nai Bridge with Binh Duong Port also contributes greatly to the congestion. Many container trucks and trucks that could not enter the port were parked and overflowing onto National Highway 1, seriously obstructing the flow of vehicles.
