On June 15, Krong A Commune Police (Dak Lak province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the Management Board of Ea So Nature Reserve and the M'Drak Regional Forest Protection Department to release a brocade python and a golden monkey back to the natural environment.
Previously, on June 6, Krong A Commune Police received a report from Mr. K (residing in Song Cho village, Krong A commune) about the discovery of a brocade python on his way to work.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Commune Police coordinated with officials of the M'Drak Regional Forest Protection Department to directly work with Mr. K to receive this wild animal individual.
The crocodile python (scientific name Python reticulatus), belonging to the group of endangered, precious, and rare wild animals strictly protected by Vietnamese law, weighs about 3.5kg.
Through inspection, the python individual had stable health status and was handed over to the M'Drak Regional Forest Protection Department for reception and care according to regulations.
On June 12, Krong A Commune Police continued to coordinate with the Management Board of Ea So Nature Reserve and the M'Drak Regional Forest Protection Department to bring the above-mentioned brocade python and a yellow monkey (scientific name Macaca mulatta) to Ea So Nature Reserve to re-release to the natural environment.
Receiving, caring for and releasing wild animal individuals back to the natural environment contributes to biodiversity conservation and raising people's awareness in wildlife protection.
