On July 16, the Traffic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police informed that the unit has coordinated with relevant units to fence and close dangerous locations on the North-South railway section passing through Binh Kien ward to ensure railway traffic order and safety.
Through review, the railway section from Km1193+750 to Km1195+000 was identified as an area with many potential safety risks.
Along the route, there are many people's roads with a large volume of people and vehicles passing through, many locations directly adjacent to the railway but have not been installed with defense systems.
In addition, the situation of people arbitrarily opening walkways across the railway, encroaching on safety corridors, and illegally building works and architectural structures within the scope of railway works protection is still complicated, posing a high risk of accidents.
Notably, only from the beginning of 2026 to now, this area has experienced 3 collisions between road vehicles and trains, causing property damage, affecting train operations and posing a potential risk of particularly serious accidents.
Faced with the above situation, relevant units have agreed to deploy a plan to fence off and narrow dangerous locations to prevent vehicles from arbitrarily crossing the railway, protect train safety corridors and gradually eliminate potential traffic accident points.
During the period from July 14 to 16, the construction force mobilized manpower, vehicles and specialized equipment to install a system of concrete piles along both sides of the railway line.
The piles are arranged 2.5m away from the edge of the outer rail, the distance between the piles is 5m, forming a fence to protect the railway infrastructure.
According to statistics, in Dak Lak province, there are still 21 self-opened paths through the North-South railway line. These are all potential points of risk of accidents if not handled promptly.
