Open the way for people to improve their economy
Since the beginning of the year, Buon Don district has provided vocational training for 245 poor people, people from near-poor households, people from newly escaped poverty households, and ethnic minorities in 7 communes.
This is one of the important tasks in the poverty reduction program, opening up opportunities for people to develop the economy, earn more income, escape poverty, and become masters of their lives.
In the first days of getting acquainted with the sewing machine, Ms. Le Thi Huu, in Ea Bar commune, Buon Don district, was quite bewildered because she had been used to manual work for a long time, and with her age, her hands were no longer as flexible as before.
However, with the determination to study for a career, as well as thanks to the dedicated guidance of the teacher, Ms. Huu began to master the needle and thread.
Ms. Huu shared that sewing requires meticulousness and carefulness, so it is suitable for women. The apprenticeship time is not long, if you study hard and practice diligently, you will be able to master the sewing machine.
Ms. Huu learned sewing to serve her family and to take advantage of her free time to take on sewing jobs to earn extra income. According to Ms. Huu, in the countryside, there is not much work and it is seasonal.
After the harvest season, there is almost no work. Men can go to work far away, but women still have to take care of the house and children, so they only want to find a job that requires a lot of initiative.
Through research, Ms. Huu realized that many women around her had studied industrial sewing and had found extra jobs by sewing at home. They earned 2-3 million VND/month, which was a very necessary income for women to have more money to cover their living expenses.
Similarly, Ms. Duong Thi Tam, in Cuor Knia commune, Buon Don district, also studied industrial sewing. She herself found that sewing is a light job that requires dexterity. Those who have additional talent will have many career opportunities.
In addition to working as workers for companies, tailors can also take on home-based jobs, repair clothes, and even study in depth to sew clothes.
