Increase the proportion of workers receiving vocational training
Dak Doa District People's Committee, Gia Lai Province said that to develop an effective labor market and integrate into economic development, the district strives to have a 50% rate of trained workers by 2025.
Of which, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates reached 30%; the unemployment rate in urban areas decreased below 2%.
The rate of working-age labor force participating in social insurance reached 10.03%; the rate of working-age labor force participating in unemployment insurance reached 3.78%.
In recent years, the Dak Doa District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center has been invested in to meet the multi-professional training needs of workers. The center has opened many vocational training classes for poor and near-poor workers, ethnic minorities, etc.
Vocational training has helped workers gain more skills to serve local production activities and employment needs.
According to the representative of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak Doa district, in the past time, the unit has reviewed and collected information on labor supply and demand. From there, it has assessed and forecasted human resource needs in each industry and field to promptly connect and supply labor to businesses.
However, the current difficulty is that there are few large enterprises in the district, mainly small and micro enterprises.
Workers, especially ethnic minorities, are reluctant to travel far, and some have not yet adapted to an industrial environment with discipline and punctuality.
Propaganda to raise awareness of vocational training
Mr. Nguyen Song Toan - Vice Chairman of Ia Pet Commune People's Committee, Dak Doa District said that vocational training classes under the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas are very meaningful and practical.
The class helps people equip themselves with more knowledge to increase labor productivity and improve their lives. The current difficulty is that the ethnic minority labor force does not have much production experience, and some of their technical expertise does not meet the requirements of the labor market.
This has significantly affected the job search of ethnic minority youth.
Commune and district authorities continue to widely propagate to all classes of youth of vocational age, and strengthen inspection and evaluation work.
The authorities also promptly detected, corrected and removed difficulties and obstacles in vocational training for rural and mountainous workers.
Every year, Gia Lai Vocational College must regularly send teachers and student counseling and career guidance staff to communes to advise middle and high school students and workers.
With the investment attraction policy of Dak Doa district, investment projects and economic development are expected to create jobs for many local workers in the coming time.
