On the morning of July 8, the area receiving applications for granting and exchanging driving licenses at the citizen reception point of the Traffic Police Department - Da Nang City Police was bustling with people coming and going.
Accordingly, many people have come here early with the mentality of having to wait a long time. However, contrary to the initial concerns, most people were surprised because the procedures were handled quickly and neatly.
From early morning, Mr. Phan Quang Thong (living in Dien Ban ward, Da Nang city) rode his motorbike more than 25km to the citizen reception point of the Traffic Police Department - Da Nang City Police on Vo An Ninh Street to change his driver's license.
Mr. Thong could not hide his surprise because the procedures were too fast: I drove 25km here to change my driver's license. I thought it would take a whole session but unexpectedly it was finished in less than 20 minutes, and I was able to return early."
Also taking advantage of the time to change his driver's license, Mr. Nguyen Thanh (living in Dien Ban ward) was surprised because the procedures were quick and he did not have to wait long.
According to Mr. Thanh, although there are quite a lot of people coming to do procedures to issue and change driving licenses, the citizen reception officers are very enthusiastic, no longer waiting for as long as before.
Referring to this content, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Binh - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department - Da Nang City Police said that in recent days, the department's leaders have commanded teams to go to wards and communes to grasp the implementation of the work of organizing vehicle and motorbike registration.
The inspection results show that the implementation has been carried out seriously and smoothly, and the time to handle procedures has been shortened significantly compared to before.
In the first week of July 2025, the Traffic Police Department received and processed more than 350 applications for driving licenses in person and online, bringing the total number of candidates taking the test since taking the job to nearly 10,000 people. The unit is urgently preparing to conduct an examination of the outstanding Grade C records.
Currently, the unit is arranging 2 points to receive and issue driver's licenses to people at the headquarters at 22 Vo An Ninh (Hoa Xuan ward) and 41 Tran Quy Cap (Ban Thach ward).
Since July 1, the Traffic Police Department - Da Nang City Police has quickly updated the information system, synchronized data on vehicle registration, handling violations and residents on the national platform.
This allows people to register their vehicles or pay fines at any ward or commune police station conveniently, instead of having to go to the previous gathering places.
