Health care for people at home
Buon Don commune is one of the localities in the particularly difficult economic zone of Dak Lak province. The commune borders Cambodia, with about 6,568 people and 1,782 households, of which 76% are ethnic minorities.
Low education level, limited economic life and difficult roads make health care and disease prevention face many challenges.

However, the government and grassroots health forces always care about and support health care for people, especially the elderly of ethnic minorities.
Mr. Y Nham Nie - Head of the Commune Health Station - said: "Since the beginning of 2025, the station has implemented health care for the elderly in the area. The medical staff also visit their homes for regular check-ups, helping people feel secure living with their children and grandchildren. When detecting cases of serious illness, we promptly advise the family for treatment, ensuring long-term health".

Ms. H Be Bya, 81 years old, shared: "Thanks to the medical staff who regularly care for and care for the health of the elderly, we are very assured. The list of elderly people is detailed, all of whom are entitled to health services, helping their children and grandchildren work with peace of mind.

Contributing to promoting economic development
Health care for the elderly in Buon Don commune plays a particularly important role.
The team of village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people and the elderly are leading and propagating the younger generation to strive for labor and production, contributing to maintaining security and order and stable socio-economic development in the border area.

Mr. Le Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: "Thanks to resources from the national target program, ethnic minorities in the area receive regular health care. At the same time, the authorities organize training and propaganda sessions to help people clearly understand the major policies and practical policies of the Party and State".
According to Mr. Son, health care and disease prevention and control are not only the tasks of the health sector but also the responsibility of the whole community. The persistent efforts and consensus of the people are the foundation for the locality to build a safe, healthy living environment and develop sustainably.
